An eLearning portal built using an open source solution and content built using rapid authoring software.
Brief
As part of Australia Post's ERP upgrade and technology program, the implementation of SAP modules has a direct impact on existing business processes and system transactions. Business systems are a key part of Australia Post's success and skilling end users to fully utilise the new systems is an imperative part of IT project success. eLearning has become an effective way of training significant numbers of staff requiring quick, easy and effective access to online training.
Solution
Using the open source Moodle LMS, Cubic has created a powerful and robust new Learning Centre that is able to manage up to 10,000 users (1000 users concurrently). The Moodle GUI was extensively formatted to achieve a consistent approach with Australia Posts corporate image. Custom functionality including user reporting tailored to customer requirements was also implemented. Courseware was built by Cubic analysts in conjunction with the client in-house at Australia Post using Lectora, packaged as SCORM modules and uploaded to the Learning Centre for remote user access. Each module was made up of a course, including 3 lessons; an eLearning lesson, an assessment and an evaluation. A usage and results report was generated each morning to ensure users gained the appropriate level of competency to utilise the new system prior to go live. Context sensitive online help also enabled direct access to system information directly from within the SAP system.
