A series of practical eLearning programs for the energy industry aimed at people working out in the field.
Brief
The Australian Energy Industry and its member organisations take an active approach to effective safety education. Stemming from an initial eLearning grant received by Energy Australia from the Commonwealth Government Australian Flexible Learning Framework, a series of online safety programs have been developed over a 4 year period for specific energy organisations and sharing across the sector.
Solution
With source material provided by a variety of industry and regulatory sources including Energy Australia, Western Power, Ergon Energy, Transgrid and the Workcover authorities, instructional design and assessment functionality was developed with unique electrical industry audiences in mind. Copy, design, graphics and photography were all provided by Cubic together with a deployment capability enabling students to register and record results

Results
Safety in the energy industry continues to be at the forefront of priority. These online learning programs have provided hundreds of electrical industry workers with practical real-life training, increasing knowledge and improving work practises. Safety programs now cover Polarity Testing, Heights Safety, Working Near Powerlines and Working with Ladders.
